Well, we just brought Min Yi back to the hospital. She's going to be "in traction" for three weeks again, this time using a different material that hopefully her skin won't react to. Min Yi was quite happy to be in the hospital. She obviously had no idea what was about to happen. When they wrapped her legs she looked very serious and studied "the phenomenon", but still didn't suspect anything. Then... they put her legs up, and Min Yi thought it was time to continue her normal life... i.e. turn around and look at life lying on her belly.
Seeing a little kid trying to turn when they really cannot is not nice. We have to try and move her back to normal position each time, because she needs to be on her back with her legs up, not half twisted sideways. She got tired and wanted to sleep. Over the past few days she's turned in her bed and fallen asleep either sideways or sometimes on her belly, but this is not possible in her current position, so she got REALLY angry. She was crying and screaming and turned all red because she couldn't do what she wanted so much. Eventually, with our help and a pacifier, she fell asleep. And this is how we left her to go and do some things quickly before returning later on today.
Maybe Min Yi will have to be strapped to the bed, if she won't accept the fact that she cannot turn. This is going to look even sadder, but if it's really necessary, it will have to be done. Poor girl. I just hope she will cope with her new situation. Three weeks without being able to hold your baby is a very very long time. I hope that Li Choo and I will also be able to cope with her situation.
Anyway, gotta run. Return some books to the library and back to the hospital.
