We're now a week into our new cast, and don't know any better. Min Yi in bright pink is now only a very distant memory and the head ache yellow looks more soothing every day. And Min Yi? Well, she couldn't really care less about her new cast.

Last Friday -it feels like ages ago- we went to the hospital for a check. The CT scan was enough (no X-ray needed) for the ortho to see that Min Yi's leg bones are nicely centered now. So far, everything looks excellent! We made an appointment for the cast removal as well. It is going to be November the 2nd instead the October the 31st as we were led to believe. Right after the removal, Min Yi will be fitted with braces. She'll have to start out wearing the braces 24 hours a day but is allowed out for baths and short rides, which is a great relief. The first check after this will be roughly three months later. Ideally, she will wear the braces less and less as her hips get more and more stable. There's no guarantee of course, but statistically, she has a very good chance! I tried to tell Min Yi this and all she could mutter was "I'm not a statistic...".
