Unfortunately. there are numerous things in this world that can make one incredibly sad. At the same time, some of these things can serve as a reminder of how lucky you are to live where you live, how you live and who you live with.

Last night Li and I watched a very touching story about kids who grow up in the red light district of Calcutta, without any hope or future. A documentary called Born into Brothels. It shows that even with outside help of the most motivated people, escaping the live that you were born into can sometimes be close to impossible.

Checking on Min Yi when we went to bed, it was hard not to feel overwhelmed by this tiny creature, a bundle of dependence and innocence.
